((This article, although not dated, was printed in the late 1920's or early 1930's as Wilfrid moved to 401
Hamilton Avenue in Ottawa during that year, and lived on Kenora Avenue prior to this.  This article
may refer to the "Gerber Baby" drawing, but I am not sure)).

LOCAL ARTIST WINDS FIRST PRIZE OF $500 IN B.C. COMPETITION

    Mr. W.J. Flood, residing at 187 Holland Avenue, and employed in the Mines Branch, Department of
Mines, has been awarded the first prize of $500 in a painting competition promoted by a Vancouver
firm in connection with its products.
    A member of the Ottawa Art Association and the Ottawa Art Club, he has exhibited for several
years in the local Spring and Fall exhibitions and many artists have been favourably impressed with
the quality of his work.
