The painting should be looked at stereoscopically
in order for its full effect to be felt. Although the mountain acts
as a barrier it deflects the virtual space horizontally.

The psychological illusion of three dimensional
Virtual Space exceeds the apparent limitations of the canvas size.

| Although there are strong diagonals that
lead through the middle-gound to the back-ground, the shapes along
the way still retain their separate identity as points of interest
- they can be explored like a small model village. For that reason
I do not think this compositon makes use of subordination methods
in its style and falls more into the mutiplicity catagory. |
