Mr. Wilfrid Flood's son John, has
collected information on over two hundred of his father's works in
a variety of media from 1926
to his death in 1946. |
Mr.
Flood represented Canadian watercolourists at the New York World Fair in 1939 Unfortunately Mr. Flood declined membership invitation into the Expanded Canadian Group of 7 Painters. This in conjunction with his untimely death at such a young age left him marginalized in the annals of Canadian Art History. Mr. Wilfrid Flood received his art education in England. He arrived in Canada in 1924 settling in the Ottawa - Hull (Gatneau) area now known as Canada's National Capital Region. His artistic skill, style, content and subject matter show him to be equally at home in both the landscape and portrait modes of painting. |
